Position Overview

The candidate will join a team of over twenty investment professionals globally and will work based in Paris with the Secondary team and the European Investment team. The dedicated global secondary team is currently comprised of a Managing Director, an associate and an analyst all of whom are based in Paris.

A process for a New-York based Secondaries Vice President is currently ongoing too. The candidate will report to the Managing Director and Head of Secondaries based out of Paris.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Mature and highly motivated individual who is detail oriented and possesses a problem-solving and “can do” attitude
  • Analytical mindset with intellectual rigor and integrity
  • Ability to produce high-quality work output in a timely manner and under pressure
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from a reputable advanced Educational institution
  • Prior professional experience of 2-4 years, including solid transactional experience
  • Strong preference for a first experience in private equity (secondaries) or relevant experience in consulting, audit or investment banking
  • Very good command of French and English (written and oral); additional language skills a plus
  • Advanced financial and business modeling skills
  • Strong IT literacy including (but not limited to) Excel, Word and Powerpoint

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Investment Due Diligence – support logging, screening and review of potential secondary investment opportunities, including in-depth analysis and modeling of partnerships, portfolio companies and transactions, as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis of GPs and industries
  • Prepare and present transaction materials for Investment Committee review and contribute to the discussion
  • Investment Monitoring – Perform analysis to evaluate secondary investment performance: participation in regular update meetings with GPs, attendance at annual investor meetings, financial statement analysis, and primary and secondary research as and when relevant
  • Deal Flow management – Coordination and logging of secondary deal flow, relevant deal flow analysis and pro-active communication with intermediaries to support deal sourcing
  • Market mapping – Analysis and presentations on the various markets and PE segments in Europe to support idea generation / deal sourcing
  • Reporting – Support the team in the preparation of the clients’ reporting, including portfolio valuation and performance analysis
  • Commercial effort – Support the production of marketing materials and answers to RFP processes, especially in light of the upcoming fundraising for the next dedicated secondary fund
  • Travel – Potential travel abroad, including to the Geneva office
