We are searching for outstanding candidates to apply for the position of Internal Auditor. This role will report into the US-based Internal Audit team which rolls up under the Office of Legal and Compliance within the global organization.The ideal candidate will be based at our office in St. Ouen, with possibility of remote work 1 – 2 days a week, and will require regular travelling (expectation 20-30%).Reporting to the Senior Manager – Internal Audit, the successful jobholder will assist in and be responsible for conducting financial and operational audits throughout all locations in Europe and Africa of Sonoco group. This position also assists in the development and maintenance of audit documentation and testing programs.This is a progression experience and level will be based on candidate experience and business needs.The ideal candidate is required to be familiar with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 (SOX) regulations and auditing methodologies and techniques to fit in this position. What you’ll be doing: Assist with risk assessment activities, preparation of the annual internal audit plan and updating of audit programs as needed.Perform corporate, division and plant level SOX or compliance auditsAssist with audit scoping and fieldwork planningIdentify risks and internal controls and help the Internal Audit management tailor audit procedures required to meet audit objectives(possibly) supervise the activities of staff auditors and other supplemental audit resources on audit assignmentsAssist the Senior Manager with writing audit reports and discussing with management the audit results and recommendations for remediation and/or improvementIdentify and recommend potential areas for audit involvement that may result in cost savings or improved profit potentialIdentify and recommend strategies to drive audit efficiency through automation, standardization and streamlining of activitiesWork with business process leaders and control owners to identify solutions to solve problems, improve work processes and strengthen controlsPlan and complete assigned audits in accordance with accepted professional standardsAccess reports, data and other information from various systems to develop and perform analytical proceduresParticipate in certain fraud and whistle blower investigationsCoordinate and collaborates regularly with the external auditors ensuring adequate audit coverage, avoiding duplication of work and making use of each other’s work to the maximum extent possibleProvide assistance to external audit personnel as requested or assignedPerform other accounting and auditing duties as directed.
We’d love to hear from you if having: Prior experience performing SOX Audits is required and strong ability in prioritizing time and workload requirements will be keyMasters degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field5/7 years of experience obtained through a mix of public accounting and/or industry experienceDemonstrated knowledge of USGAAP/IFRS, financial accounting and auditing methodologies and techniquesProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteFluency in English (verbal & written) in addition to the local language required. Fluency in Spanish or Italian also preferred.Competent in prioritizing time and workload requirementsFamiliarity with manufacturing environment preferred
