Event Manager, World Chambers Federation chez International Chamber of Commerce
We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Event Manager to work with the ICC World Chambers Federation.
As the institutional representative of over 45 million businesses in more than 170 countries, the International Chamber of Commerce operates with a core mission to “make business work for everyone, every day, everywhere”.

The ICC World Chambers Federation (WCF) is recruiting an experienced and dedicated Event Manager. WCF is a forum that connects chambers across borders, creating a better environment for business and MSMEs, and driving prosperity and opportunity for all. The work of WCF contributes to the five ICC Strategic Pillars and helps ICC connect with millions of businesses worldwide via its global chamber network.
As part of its strategic transformation, WCF currently focuses on two objectives:
- Increase WCF’s institutional stranding and outreach to chambers worldwide;
- Develop programmes and services to chambers to better support their members (notably MSMEs).
To pursue these objectives, WCF has developed a series of events for its members and wider chamber network, aiming to further expand its global footprint and impact.
The role
1.Management of the World Chambers Congress and Regional Summits
- Manage the organisation of the event in close coordination with the co-hosting local chamber of commerce.
- Coordinate and facilitate the completion of event-related duties and obligations under the ICC event agreement with the host chamber: from the creation of the event, its financial approval, invitations, contract signatures through to the post-event invoicing and ad hoc disclosures.
- Partner with relevant ICC teams, agencies, and vendors to create the best end-to-end user experience at every event.
- Oversee the development and planning of the Congress agenda, including researching speakers, and coordinate with all contributing parties.
- Support the event host in developing the programme for the Summit.
- Provide input to the co-host regarding the selection of the event venue and service contractors.
- Track and analyse metrics on relevant markers of event management success and identify recommendations for improvement.
- Track spending and manage the overall event budget.
- Ensure financial reconciliation and post-event reporting to assess outcomes.
- Develop a communications and marketing plan to inform stakeholders and identify key markets for the event to attract new attendees.
- Continuously evaluate the service level provided by vendors and partners.
- Prepare necessary reports for WCF governing bodies and internal, external stakeholders.
2.Management of the World Chambers Congress bidding process and Regional Summit host selection process
- Drive the bidding process to select the future World Chambers Congress co-organiser for each edition, including communication campaigns to the chamber network as well as promotional activities.
- Organise and execute site inspections.
- Liaise with candidates and selection committee members throughout the bidding process.
3.Management of the World Chambers Competition
- Drive the organisation of the Competition, including regular communication with the candidates, the jury and the Chair of the Competition.
- Lead the preparation and the execution of the Competition sessions during the Congress
- Prepare the Competition digital platform.
- Implement a comprehensive communications and promotion plan to encourage more chambers to take part in the Competition.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in event management and event production on an international level
- Strong project management experience, including project planning, and coordination of various simultaneous activities with different counterparts located in different time zones
- Demonstrated skills in complex international event and meetings management with multiple stakeholders
- Proven experience in drafting documents and invitations, client consultation and correspondence preparations
- Demonstrated skills in marketing and sales of events
- Previous experience in interacting with senior officials from both the public and private sectors
- Good understanding of global policy developments, particularly related to international trade
- Ability to understand and navigate through pertinent issues in internation affairs, which are addressed in the respective event programme
- Perfect command of English, as it is the main working language (proficiency in French and/or any other languages is an advantage)
- Ability to navigate and adapt to unforeseen circumstances and a constantly evolving landscape
- Capability to work calmly in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
- Capacity to effectively prioritise tasks and focus on their effective completion
- Ability to take initiative and work independently, combined with great teamwork skills
- Excellent organisational skills and detail orientation
- Confidence in liaising with a range of stakeholders with different levels of seniority, through a diplomatic approach, pragmatism and good negotiation skills
- Ability to communicate effectively in an international working environment
- High commitment and motivation
