Lynxeo, formerly Nexans ISP, is looking for a talented Business Developer – Renewables to join our dynamic team ! This is an exciting opportunity to BE part of a company driving innovation in the renewable energy sector.
Reporting to the Segment Manager Solar, this position can BE based in Courbevoie or Andrézieux (France). As a Business Developer, you will play a key role in driving sales and marketing strategies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve ambitious growth targets for the solar energy segment.

Your role
– The Business Developer is responsible for selling a range of products, services and solutions to clients within a specified geographic territory or industry segment. He/she will primarily focus on developing Nexans position on the Solar PV segments and therefore play an instrumental role in supporting Energy transition goals.
– He/she represents Nexans at A, B and targeted C customers and prospects in the field by executing the commercial action plan to maximise sales/commercial margin, in coherence with the pricing strategy defined for the segment.
He/she is responsible for the full sales process, from prospecting to the elaboration of commercial proposals, and from order management to cash collection.
Your responsability
Achieve sales / Commercial margin objectives according to the Commercial Action Plan :
– Has intimate knowledge of target customers/markets, existing competitors in the marketplace and industry trends that may impact a buying decision
– Investigates to define the leverage(s) Nexans has to develop in order to obtain profitable growth
– Proposes and executes a sales action plan, develops alternative action plans to exceed the quarterly budget
– Targets A/B customers, prospects & visits customers
– Promotes value added offering, Nexans value proposition and image
– Develops relationship & loyalty and detects continuously new opportunities for Nexans
– Proposes and implements improvements in her/his customer and product portfolio and pricing
– Improves monthly Sales Forecasts Accuracy
Identifies Projects and Prospects that will generate profitable business in the short term (1 year) :
– Detects continuously new opportunities for Nexans, collects information on the next projects and anticipates negotiations.
– Manages directly a portfolio of customers and ensures the validated budget is met or exceeded; regularly works on improving their product mix, pricing and profitability and selling value-add services in line with our differentiation strategy
– Systematically and pro-actively detects, visits and develops prospects targeted in line with the marketing plan and ensures a satisfactory acquisition rate
– Prepares her/his portfolio Budget for year N+1 (~September) and secures profitable growth (share and commercial margin) at Key Accounts through a disciplined negotiation process
– Participates to the definition/change in the Segment value chain : Nexans, agent, distributor, transformation of the business through additional services and product offer or vertical/horizontal partnerships
– Participates to promotional actions for new products and services and executes an active spec-in / lobbying in order to position Nexans as an approved / preferred vendor towards direct or indirect customers, distributors, end-users or third parties involved in decision making or product definition
Identifies Trends and Opportunities for the Medium Term (next 3 years) :
– Collects information on new strategic trends in her/his customer portfolio, and areas and makes synthesis : family of product, new products, new standards, make or buy policy…
– Contributes to the Strategic Plan on her/his portfolio (and geographical area) : market trends, mega trends, new regulations, competition inputs, new standards
– Gives inputs on new comers like customers, countries, competitors…
– Formulates and implements differentiated offer proposals to secure Nexans’ future profitable growth
– Supports the overall identification process of opportunities to transform and strengthen the business model
Responsible of the offer from RFQ to payment :
– Insures that Nexans receive all the RfQs coming from his/her customer portfolio
– Selects the most relevant for Nexans : in line with Segment Strategy, profitability (CM) targets, potential turnover
– Prepares (or make IT done) the offer
– Ensures that Nexans will BE in line with the customer bidding process : dead line, legal topics…and involve all relevant support functions
– Follows the internal approval process (> 150 K€)
– Anticipates and implements a differentiated offer as a tool as much as possible
– Promotes the added value services (supply chain/engineering) with a commercial target defined (not for free)
– Prepares/customizes the presentation for each customer
– Coordinates with other departments to get the useful KPI or inputs
– Presents the offer and negotiates contracts/market including distributors and agent contracts
– Ensures the offer review at order reception : with FO/BO, legal, plants involved
Contributes to cash collection where required, with the objective to decrease the DSO and payment delinquency
Information/reporting :
– Records visit reports in the company’s CRM for every meeting (internal/with customer)
– Ensures that the database is always up to date
– Makes Monthly Report to N+1 with main facts and information regarding market, customers, business opportunities, issues, orders, competition
– Provides forecasts in accordance with the Supply Chain S&OP process and participates to the S&OP meetings in the plants
– Escalates information on every issue which could have negative impact on the Business and when IT is out of his/her responsibility scope
– Communicates to the Product Management every information related to the product portfolio
Interfaces :
– Manages the internal interface with FO/BO/supply chain organization/Technical/Credit management
– Manages the external interface with customers/prospects/decision makers/ procurement/technical departments/supply chain
