CMA CGM Group has decided to structure and strengthen its R&D approach by creating a Center of Excellence dedicated to Innovation and Research. The center will increase the company’s capacity for technological and scientific innovation necessary to meet its strategic objectives (decarbonization, digitalization…), while generating profitability and ensure a high visibility on the Group’s commitment to industry’s energy transition. It will rely on strategic industrial and academic partners experts in the maritime industry (laboratories, companies, startups, shipyards, etc.).

The Role:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic International Events Manager to join our Communications Department. This role will focus on overseeing the organization and execution of high-profile international events representing the CMA CGM brand. As the Senior International Events Manager, you will be responsible for managing a wide range of corporate events, ensuring their flawless execution, and aligning them with the strategic goals of the organization. Additionally, you will support the Executive leadership team in attending and participating in international events, ensuring their needs are met and their presence is impactful. Cultural awareness and sensitivity are key to ensuring the success of these global events, adapting to diverse environments, and ensuring the CMA CGM brand is represented appropriately across different regions.

Responsibilities :

  • Event Strategy & Planning: Lead the design and execution of large-scale corporate events (such as ship inaugurations, foreign delegation receptions, etc.) in coordination with local teams across multiple global locations.
  • Project Management: Oversee all stages of event planning and execution, including logistics, content creation, budgeting, timeline management, and post-event follow-up.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Work closely with teams from Communications (press relations, internal communications, international communications, CSR communications) and other departments at both head office and regional offices to ensure event success.
  • Executive Support: Assist the Executive leadership team by coordinating their participation in international events. This includes organizing travel logistics, ensuring their needs are met, and facilitating seamless communication to ensure their presence is impactful.
  • Innovation & Impact: Bring creativity and innovative ideas to enhance the event experience, from venue selection to media engagement, to drive the success and impact of the events.
  • Vendor & Team Coordination: Manage external vendors, suppliers, and service providers, ensuring smooth collaboration and high-quality delivery. Expand and manage a network of expert collaborators for event execution.
  • International Engagement: Regularly travel internationally to oversee events and liaise with global teams to ensure seamless delivery of event objectives.
  • Cultural Awareness: Demonstrate a high level of cultural awareness and sensitivity, ensuring that events are tailored to the local customs and expectations of each region, while also reflecting the values and image of the CMA CGM brand.
  • Brand Representation: Ensure that all events reflect the values and image of the CMA CGM brand, providing an outstanding experience for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communication Coverage: Ensure comprehensive communication coverage for each event by collaborating closely with the communications team, including press relations, to coordinate media outreach, social media engagement, event announcements, and post-event reporting.

Profile & Qualifications :

  • Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience in managing and executing international corporate events (e.g., conferences, CEO forums, product launches) either within a company or with an agency specializing in large-scale event management.
  • Languages: Fluent in both French and English (written and spoken). Additional languages are a plus.
  • Qualifications: A master’s degree in marketing, Communication or a related field.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to oversee events in various international locations.
