The business is projected to double its sales in the next 5 years, by developing the Nicotinell brand and entering additional categories.
Job Purpose: The Head of Cluster will be responsible for overseeing the management and coordination of the Southern European countries. This role involves leading a team including marketing, optimising cluster performance, ensuring seamless communication between the countries and the Basel HQ and driving operational efficiency. The Head of Cluster will also focus on resource management, sustainability and data collection. Strong leadership, strategic planning skills and technical expertise will be key to success in this role.
Main Responsibilities
- Full commercial and marketing responsibility, including national P&Ls
- Line responsibility for a small team, including a marketing head, & oversight of field sales force
- Working with a third-party sales distributors
- Supervision of e-commerce platforms
- Implementation of a local NPD programme in partnership with Basel HQ
- Identification of M&A opportunities
- Special projects as requested
Knowledge & Skills
- The Cluster Head for the Southern Europe region (France Spain Portugal) is a senior leadership role that requires a combination of strategic thinking, operational expertise and a deep understanding of the consumer healthcare markets
- Leadership & Management: Strong leadership skills to manage and motivate cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, regulatory, etc.) and drive performance across Southern Europe
- Market Expertise: Deep understanding of the consumer healthcare market in Southern Europe, including market trends, consumer behaviour and competitive landscape, e-comm and point of sale and digital marketing. Experience in OTC or Consumer Healthcare
- Sales & Marketing Strategy: Proven experience in developing and executing sales and marketing strategies, with a focus on brand management, customer engagement and expanding market share
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local regulatory requirements for consumer healthcare products and ensuring compliance
- Financial Acumen: Ability to forecast sales, manage budgets and drive profitability while optimising resource allocation
- Customer-Centric Focus: Expertise in building customer relationships, understanding consumer needs and tailoring products to local markets
- Communication & Negotiation: Strong communication and negotiation skills to collaborate with internal teams, external partners and healthcare professionals
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to identify growth opportunities, expand product reach and lead the business towards achieving both short-term goals and long-term objectives
- Cultural Sensitivity: Understanding of cultural nuances to adapt strategies and marketing efforts effectively. Must have experience with a full-service distribution system or a third-party distribution service provider
