Job Overview
TerraCycle is looking for a talented paralegal to join our Legal team working out of our Paris office. As a Paralegal, you will be tasked with the following: general legal support and handling routine legal requests in collaboration with internal departments.
This is a unique and fast-paced role for a resourceful, driven individual looking for an exceptional paralegal opportunity with a global leader in innovative waste management and sustainability. A specialization in contracts and/or data protection is ideal, but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
Details of the responsibilities, required skills, and working conditions are listed below:
- Management of routine legal requests (international scale):
- Address daily inquiries from internal departments regarding simple legal matters (e.g. reviewing terms and conditions, verifying compliance of internal practices, etc.).
- Review and implement electronic signatures, monitor the execution of simple contracts, and provide general administrative support.
- Provide legal assistance on straightforward contractual matters in collaboration with other internal departments.
- Personal data protection (international scale):
- Provide legal support related to personal data protection (GDPR and CPRA).
- Manage and monitor requests related to data protection (e.g., data access, rectification, deletion requests).
- Assist in implementing compliance processes for data protection and verify adherence to applicable regulations.
- Monitor internal processes for managing consents and data processing.
- Conduct regular legal monitoring.
- Support for legal activities and interdepartmental collaboration:
- Assist in preparing presentations, particularly after the initial drafts have been created and validated.
- Monitor actions and ensure legal coordination between various departments.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure compliance with employment contracts and internal practices.
The scope of responsibilities will evolve as the team grows.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications/Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in law minimum (Bac +3) or a similar qualification.
- At least 2–3 years of experience in a similar role or a corporate legal environment is essential.
Technical Skills
- Practical knowledge of personal data protection laws is ideal.
- Expertise in contract law (especially commercial contracts).
- Proficiency in office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, document management tools).
- English and French proficiency (C1 level) is mandatory.
Soft Skills
- Team spirit and strong communication skills.
- Autonomy and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail and thoroughness, especially in handling administrative requests.
- Proactivity and ability to quickly understand the needs of various departments.
- Ability to handle simple requests while ensuring effective coordination with internal and external experts.
Working Conditions
- Contract type: Permanent (CDI) or shared employment.
- Working hours: Part-time (minimum 3 days per week) or full-time.
- Hybrid work: 3 days remote, 2 days onsite (mandatory).
